We pull live carrier data from FMCSA Census, SMS BASICs, QCMobile, Socrata, and five other federal sources — no more opening 7 browser tabs per carrier.

A five-layer scoring engine weighs safety, crashes, insurance, authority history, and chameleon patterns — with confidence-weighted penalties.

How we score
Evidence, not opinion
Every score we produce is auditable. No hidden weights, no “proprietary AI magic,” no scraping. Just federal data, transparent thresholds, and a layered model that favors evidence over guesswork.

Carrier type classification
Property, broker, or passenger — plus hazmat and Mexican-domiciled modifiers. Different carrier types face different expectations.

Binary gates
Hard auto-rejects for non-negotiable issues: revoked authority, no active insurance, unsatisfactory safety rating, out-of-service status.

Confidence-weighted signals
Safety (−35 max), crashes (−30), insurance (−25), authority (−25). Low-inspection carriers get less aggressive penalties until we have enough data to trust the signal.

Pattern intelligence
Chameleon detection, insurance stability over time, coverage gaps, cross-reference matching against 4.4M other carriers by phone, address, and officers.

Decision floors
Safety nets that prevent dangerous auto-APPROVEs even if the numeric score looks clean. Nine separate floors (F1–F9) catch edge cases.
